1. For best results print
directly onto a thin sheet of card. Alternatively, print the net onto paper
and then glue onto a thin sheet
of card. To construct the signal box a knife, a rule, a cutting board and
glue will be required. At all times craft knives should be used by/under the
guidance of a responsible adult.
|
2. Score lightly along all lines marked, with a
grey dotted line and the folding red arrow.
|
|
3. Having cut out the main body, fold and glue
the main tab at the right inside the front of the signal box to form a
rectangle. Fold the tabs at the
four corners up and glue them on the inside of the corresponding wall to add
strength to the structure
|
4. Stand the signal box up
and glue in the top tabs that run along the length of the building so that
they align with the gables on the side wall.
Fold in the tabs at the
top of the side walls to 90°
|
|
5. Cut out the roof and
glue onto the roof tabs. Fold down the green guttering so it is in line with
the front and rear of the signal box and stands proud from it
|
6. Cut rectangles around the
gables and fold and glue them over. The gables can then be cut out so they
are green on both sides. Affix the
gables to the Signal Box.

|
|
 7. Cut out the chimney and
glue the tabs together forming the chimney. Cut out the chimney stack and
roll it into a cylinder. The chimney top in green should be cut out then
folded in half. Assemble the chimney
then affix to the roof above the chimney seen through the front windows.
|
|
 8. Next, the stairs should be
cut out. Fold up the tabs on either side of the door, fold up the door and
affix the tabs out side of the stair fencing. Sandwich the tabs with the
outer side of the stair fencing and fold over and glue the underside of the
stairs. Glue the door at the top of the stairs to the doorway marked stairs
on the left-hand side of the Signal box.
|
|

9. Finally, to finish off
the Signal Box, run an appropriately coloured felt tip or paint along the
corners and sides where the white card shows.
